The art wars have been going on for longer than anyone could remember. The city of Abyon know the wars very well and accept it as a way of life. The concept is simple. The city is split into various territories, all rich with buildings and sidewalks as canvases for the artists to work their magic on. And it's the defenders who keep their artists safe. Conflict emerges when space starts to run out, and each group needs new territory. The wars started with only five gangs that evenly split the city between themselves, each taking a share which formed the North, South, East, West and Central. The gangs were called Kings, powerhouses of their district. They were never challenged by the lower ranking gangs and only had to worry about each other.

An art gang is usually split into two groups. The artists and the defenders. The artists were the brave souls that went out to spread their work across the city and promote their gang along with all of it's beliefs. The defenders were the very necessary group of people that protected the artists while they worked. Without proper defenders, the artists are prime targets for broken fingers and bruised eyes. Both of which are essential to an Artist. And an art gang without it's artists aren't a gang at all. Both groups ultimately are split into different subgroups depending on their reasoning for running with their gang, but all were agreed on one thing...Obey the boss.

The Northerners called themselves Nexus. Their art style was very dark and their fighting style even darker. They never worked during the day and took every precaution at night. Their artists were some of the most skilled at getting themselves from tough situations. So although their gang lacked in defenders, their territory stayed strong and drunk with art on almost every building.

The Easterners called themselves Deliverance. Their art style was comprised of the concept of life. They often painted pictures of Angels and trees that would climb the highest skyscrapers. They were more gentle about their fighting style and simply defended their artists with moves that would fend off an enemy but not hurt them. Their gang was full to the brim with people, so their title as a King was rightly so.

The Southerners called themselves Genesis. Their art style was chaotic and had no rhyme or reason, often tending to try and break the mind of anyone who dared look at it. Obviously, the gang was comprised of groups of very capable geniuses. They also had a track record of selling and dealing drugs, often creating their art when they were drunk or high. Their unpredictability made them frightening to battle  and very often got left alone due to the rumors of defenders carrying guns.

The Westerners called themselves Regulus. They were the second strongest gang in the entire city, ruled by a man who was often described as a child born from the fires of hell. Their art style was all about heat and passion. There was strength and raw power in every work they created. Their defenders were some of the strongest the city ever saw, but their artists were few and very rare. Each piece took a least a couple nights. It was extremely difficult to get into the gang and even more difficult to get along with their beliefs which seemed to flicker and change like a flame in the wind.

And lastly, Central. They called themselves Origin. And for good reason. They were the grandfathers of the art wars, having started the traditions and made all the rules. They were the overlords and easily defended their territory from each of the Kings that surrounded them. Each piece of art they created was different and magnificent all the same. Central Abyon was refined and very much protective of their gang and their work. So not only were the artists protected by their very capable defenders, but by the residents as well. They were allowed- even encouraged to work on their art in broad daylight and praised daily for their accomplishments. Origin seemed it would never loose it's title.

Until now.

Recent events has caused the city to shutter. For the first time in history, each of the five Kings has been tagged by one gang in the same night. None of the members of this mystery gang were seen and none even knew who this gang was. But one thing was certain, the reign of the Kings would finally be challenged. The art wars are finally heating up and for the first time ever, their stories are about to be shared.
A concept that I've been fostering for years. I'm finally going to do it. The inspiration hit me and I think it's about time I started writing again. So here's the introduction that sorta explains the Kings and their styles. The rest will be explained offhand through story telling.

If you have interest in the concept, feel free to comment or note me. I'll need people to help me with some things when it comes to what I should do with the story or how I should tell it :)
